A Story of Love and Tragedy
Inspector Godfrey attended a call out regarding a 3-year-old Pitbull terrier named “Pinky” after she was involved in a harrowing incident during a home invasion attempt in Bezuidenout Valley. According to her owner, Pinky was once a kind, well-mannered and loyal companion who would often sleep and watch TV with the family indoors.
However, on the night of 21st May 2025, Pinky’s life took a drastic turn. When home invaders attempted to burglarize her home, she bravely defended her family, attacking one of the burglars and refusing to let go until he jumped over the palisade fencing. Unfortunately, Pinky’s grip on the burglar caused her lower jaw to impact against the metal fencing which resulted in a ruptured jawline.
Due to the severity of her injury and the owner’s inability to afford veterinary treatment the humane option was euthanasia. Pinky’s tragic fate serves as a testament to her loyalty and love towards her owner.
